Balfour Beatty have been approved to complete Junction 10 upgrades on the M25 which has 300,000 vehicles travelling through it every day. The project includes four new slip roads for the M25 junction 10 roundabout so vehicles can turn left and increasing the junction from three to four lanes. The A3 will also become four lanes either side of the junction 10 roundabout. There will also be improvements to the A245, Sevenhills junction and Painshill roundabout.

Australia’s longest road tunnel
Australia plans to build an 11km underground road tunnel in New South Wales leading from the Blue Mountains to the East Coast. Roads in Australia are notoriously dangerous due to the large distances, fast speeds and disrepair (because of volume). The new tunnel will provide safer and more efficient travel for locals, tourists and freight travelling between the Central West and the East Coast.
The record for the longest road tunnel in the world is held by the Lærdal tunnel in Norway at 24.5km.
