Colas Limited, the UK arm of Colas SA, has embarked on its second significant contract with Veolia, focusing on the design and construction of a new waste transfer facility in Maresfield, East Sussex. As part of this project, Colas has selected EMS OptiBond for onsite connectivity.

The 56-week project is set to become a crucial component of the East Sussex County Council’s waste management strategy. During the initial phase on-site, Colas conducted trials of the i-MO system while awaiting the installation of ADSL lines by BT.

Following the successful trials, Colas has officially integrated i-MO into their future site setup plans.

Tony Delaney, UK IT Manager at Colas, expressed satisfaction with the system’s performance and the support provided by EMS:

“We were looking for a simple, robust method to enable our on-site personnel to get online. The reliability and performance of the service, coupled with the active support from EMS, convinced us to proceed with i-MO,” Delaney stated.

Andrew Lambert, Managing Director of EMS, highlighted the positive feedback from the Maresfield trials:

“The excellent performance during the trials showcased i-MO at its best. By using data cards from different network providers and bonding the bandwidth together, we achieved outstanding results.”

The new waste transfer facility at Maresfield is expected to significantly enhance waste management operations in East Sussex, marking another successful collaboration between Colas Limited and EMS.
