Beable Contract Win at North London Waste Authority

beable Wearable
beable Wearable

EMS’ beable has secured an ongoing contract with North London Heat and Power Project to provide providing social distancing bracelets for around 150 contractors across 7 contractors being Galldris, Barhale, Taylor Woodrow, Wood Group, Arup, Buckingham, and DSM with purpose-built software to enable the site to continue to remain open and productive during the current COVID social distancing restrictions, and into the future. The next key milestone is delivery of finessed firmware based on feedback from the trial and new hardware and bracelets.

The app gives construction workers and employers a simple red/green check of their ability to work and was developed and deployed by EMS and COMIT Projects Ltd.

Beable Saves Construction From COVID

Luckily, technology exists so Construction sites can stay open and take care of their workers with beable® Wearable which has been deployed at pilot stage at a large north London site to keep workers safe and productive; it facilitates physical distancing as well as interaction tracking. Co-developed by Electronic Media Services and COMIT Projects and funded by Innovate UK, the new technology has been well received and plans to rollout to further sites in Q2 this year are underway.

Port of Tilbury is UKs fastest growing port – Tarmac has just signed a £25m deal to build the UK’s largest construction materials aggregates terminal (‘CMAT’). Facilities include an asphalt and ready-mix concrete plant and capacity for deep-sea vessels. Port of Tilbury is strategically placed on the lower Thames near Grays to facilitate transport of primary materials up through London and beyond. The 153-acre privately-funded port will import, process, manufacture and distribute raw construction materials. EMS is proud to have provided connectivity at Tarmac’s current Tilbury facility for the past 2 years.

Internet Connectivity for New, Temporary and Challenging locations…

For new, temporary and challenging locations why not consider the EMS i-MO OptiBond solution? Delivers fast / resilient aggregated 4G and / or fixed line services to site in days. The system is widely used on difficult to serve and new commercial and infrastructure projects.  See www.ems-imo.com

Kier has sold housing division for £110m to Terra Firma owned by financier Guy Hands subject to shareholder approval. The terms of the two-year Kier Living warranty and the 10-year NHBC warranty are unaffected. Kier plans to launch a new housing division called Tilia Homes once shareholders approve the deal.

Apparently, the sale is in effort to reduce debts totalling £436m. It first went up for sale last June. With losses of £89m, the current sale price being at the high end of the estimated range, but still a £50m drop from the original £160m estimate.
